Marty's Birthday!

Today was Marty's birthday, woo hoo! Happy Birthday hubs!

Marty doesn't care much at all about his birthday, and typically prefers that we don't do anything for it, he would rather be getting things done than spending time on a silly celebration. But this birthday fell on a Sunday, so he wasn't going to be working anyway. Score!

We still didn't do much, but I made him the cake of his request- a chocolate cake with whipped cream frosting, covered in chocolate shavings. It's pretty tasty looking, and pretty tasty tasting.

I packed up the cake and we met up with Marty's parents and one of his brothers and his family at the capitol building in Salt Lake. They have the entire grounds covered with trees that are all blooming for spring. We actually missed the peak blooming by just a few days, but it was still lovely.

After the capitol building we went up to Marty's parent's house, and a different brother came over there with his family and we ate cake and all of the cousins played. All in all it was a pretty fun day. I think Marty didn't even mind the festivities.
